BB Creams

BB creams ate all the rage! BB creams, or beauty bands, are needn't to offer multiple benefits for your skin in a makeup form; skin care and makeup in one. Claims such as hydrating, blurring imperfections, smoothing skin appearance, evening skin tone are some of the main claims of a BB cream. These can be found from just about every brand. However, unfortunately, not many brands offer these in darker shades. But I've found one that has been an absolute staple in my makeup collection and I love it! It's Maybelline's BB cream and it is sheer coverage, definitely evens out my skin tone, hydrates and leaves my skin with a beautiful dewy and fresh finish. This is a great alternative to foundation, which is a good option during the summer months. But, if you prefer more coverage, it serves as a great primer for your foundation as well. It retails for about $7 and can be found pretty much anywhere. Check it out and let me know what you think.

Summer Proof Makeup

Guide to Heat Proof Summer Makeup

Makeup melting off of my face is not exactly an ideal picture. However, if you don’t use the right products, that is exactly what will happen! No worries! Here are some helpful tips to full proof your face for the hot and humid months ahead of us!

FACE MAKEUP

1.     Use a primer. Face primers are the best way to help your makeup stay in place ALL DAY! My favorite primer is L’Oreal Studio Secrets (about $10) face primer. It goes on so smooth, makes your face feel like silk and provides the perfect silky canvas for your makeup to adhere.
There are TONS of primers on the market at every price point ranging from $3 to $50. Experiment and find one that works for you. A higher price does not always mean higher quality.

2.    Use a tinted moisturizer. During summer months, tinted moisturizers are my go-to staple. They provide a light coverage and are a nice alternative to heavier foundations. If you need more coverage, use a concealer to spot cover to minimize product on your face.

3.    Blush and translucent powder. Finish you look with a little blush to add that glow and a translucent powder to set all the makeup in place.

EYE MAKEUP

WATERPROOF! Use waterproof eyeliners and mascaras to keep the makeup from budging in the muggy heat! They take a little more effort to wash off at night, but they will not fail you during the day!
Voila! There’s your guide to heat proof makeup! IF you try any of these or have any product recommendations that you’ve tried and loved, let me know!
